There is just something about this kid!

Ava Luna

Simply put there is just something about this kid! I don't know what is it maybe because right now she is the baby, maybe cause she so damn adorable and cute or maybe because I am a big old wimp when it comes to her, but I have to admit I treat her different than I treat Layla! I don't do it on purpose and I don't know how to stop!

When I had Layla, I kind of focused on making her very independent! I hardly ever spoke "baby talk" to her, so she learned how to talk pretty quickly and Layla got things a bit faster. She walked and talked very early and she was potty trained a little after two years old!

Well Miss Ava over here, don't get me wrong, she hit all of her milestone and has a great vocabulary and can communicate very well. But she still uses her pacifier to sleep and she is not potty trained and did I mention I have spawn number three baking over here and she is going to start school in September! (Don't judge me)

I wonder am I being too lenient??? I just can't bring down the hammer. A few weeks ago my husband took the pacifier away from her and for a few hours after bedtime  she tossed and turned and whined and cried that I was tired of waking up to soothe or so I just gave her the pacifier. Oh and the potty training situation well I haven't even wrapped my brain around how the hell I am going to do that! She says things like "I the baby" and "Petty please" (pretty please) to get her way and I just look the other way.

What I don't understand is how I was so on point with Layla and with Ava I kind of just go with it. Do you treat your kids different? I mean I love them just the same, but Ava seems to get away with things that Layla didn't and still won't! Ava's character is very head strong and she is very stubborn. Her favorite word is no and her favorite phrase is "I no want to" and for the most part I kind of just let her be! She is not difficult by any means or bratty I just see that I let her get away with things that I normally didn't let Layla get away!
AM I LOSING MY EDGE!!!!
If I continue this pattern Spawn number 3 will walk all over me! But to me she is my baby! I think it all started with her being sickly when she was younger, she had constant ear infections as a newborn, to the point where we had to go to a specialist, she has a severe peanut allergy and to top it off the chick has Eczema!!! So she constantly needed extra attention as a newborn so I guess I just continued the pattern and I cant break it off! She runs to me when dad says no and I have to admit I do let her get her way when he is not looking! UGH! I don't want to treat my kids different! I just can't help it!

Layla and her father have such a unique relationship, its like they have their own secret club, that when Ava kind of started favoring me I kind of took full advantage of it! Now she knows she can just come to me and I will give in! I know its wrong, but I just can't help it!

Do you guys find that you treat your kids differently and is that totally wrong? Or do you treat your kids according to each individual needs? I just hope I am not doing damage to her by babying her!
